PARADE is excited to be a part of your NIE program through an improved and expanded PARADE Classroom Web site, now located at parade.com/classroom.

CHECK OUT OUR NEW SITE AT:

Based on interviews with many of you and feedback from teachers in the field, we've added several new and easy-to-use interactive features that will engage students and educators and help you drive NIE circulation.

We are particularly excited about the new Interactive Current Events Quiz!  Students now will be able to take the quiz each week on our site (it will also be available in printable format for download).

We also are pleased to offer a newly designed Teen Newsbreak for the 2007-08 school year. The in-paper feature will be available in 48- and 50-inch web as horizontal (half-page) and vertical (quarter-page) in color and black & white.

June 3-9, 2007: YEAR-ROUND SCHOOLS

This week, we examine the growing popularity of year-round school calendars that keep some kids in class during the summer. Do these alternative calendars help students learn more? ALSO: We look at the movie industry's agreement to consider smoking scenes when rating films and we consider the powerful stories of several medical personnel back home after serving in Iraq. Please note: This is the final Teacher's Guide of the school year.
